In 2022, Alex Horne (Taskmaster, Channel 4) hosted a LIVE, interactive and arty, challenge-based show with a Taskmaster twist!This sell-out show was directed by Emily Brown. Emily developed & directed this new spin on the Ch4 show, creating a fresh format, challenges & celebrity-led task VTs, for a pilot & sell-out live show.

Calling all innovators, trail blazers, fun seekers and comedy lovers.
This is YOUR chance to prove you’ve got what it takes, or simply laugh along as others get stuck in! Can you think outside the box when up against the clock? Can you and your friends make the best sculpture out of mashed potato? Or paint a cracking portrait while walking a tightrope? Or do you enjoy laughing at others taking part in adrenalin-fuelled challenges? Alex is joined by team captains Fiona Allen (Smack the Pony, Goodness Gracious Me, EastEnders) and Ninia Benjamin (3 Non-Blondes, BBC Three), as well as Ben Rufus Green (The Cockfields, Gold, Alan Partridge), Stevyn Colgan (QI, Grayson Perry’s Art Club), plus more familiar faces to be announced soon Make your mark in the ultimate battle – who will win the coveted ARTMaster trophy? The last 2 years have been hard going and challenging. Programmes like Channel 4’s Taskmaster, Grayson Perry’s Art Club, The Great Pottery Throwdown and Portrait Artist of the Week have really gotten us through tough times, drawing in millions of viewers.
The intention of this fun, live show is to plan a funny, enjoyable and interactive event that everyone in Chesham can look forward to, that will attract new visitors and to lift our spirits and to celebrate Chesham’s creativity, comedy chops and our proud connection with the Taskmaster series. Everyone who watches shows like Landscape Artist of the Year and Taskmaster on the telly can’t help but fantasise about how THEY would do, if given the chance. Now locals and visitors to Chesham will have the opportunity to have a go and be judged by Taskmaster royalty, or simply to enjoy watching the creative chaos unfold on stage. We’ve chosen to focus on art-related challenges only and to create a brand new format, in order to provide a fresh take on these challenge-based TV game shows while paying homage to shows such as Art Attack, Making It and of course Taskmaster, which was created by local resident, Alex Horne and is often filmed in Chesham. |

★ The theatre audience will be split down the middle into 2 teams, competing against each other.
★ Members of the audience from each team will be randomly selected to get up on stage and compete on behalf of their team. Participation is optional. ★ Each team will be led by a celebrity team captain, seated on stage. They will compete alongside team members and assist with tasks. ★ Throughout the night we will be screening pre-recorded challenges filmed out and about in Chesham. ★ Alex will award points to each participant, to be added to the team's overall score. Participants who win their individual challenge will receive a small prize. ★ The team with the most points at the end of the night will win* the official ARTMaster trophy - which will proudly go on display, with the names and photo of the winners, in a public place in Chesham, such as in the Elgiva foyer. (*NB the trophy will remain the property of the ARTMaster Production team). ★ A creative competition or 'home task' will be run in the weeks leading up to the show, with the intention of featuring the best entries on the cinema screen during the live show. Local residents will be encouraged to upload competition entries to social media, tagging @ARTMasterLive, or by emailing entries to [email protected] MORE INFO HERE ABOUT THE DIRECTORThe show is produced and directed by Funny Women finalist, Emily Brown (her TV credits include Ch4's Four in a Bed, The One Show, Paper Trail & The Big Picture Chesham). Emily is also a professional artist, muralist and has run many community projects and events in Chesham, including The Big Picture in 2022.
Emily is an award winning, highly creative and technical Shooting Producer/Director with 17 years industry experience, including 5 years at the BBC.
